Matthew brings over 24 years of combined NHS and private practice experience to Netherne Osteopaths, which he founded in 2012. His career spans clinical practice, education and national leadership.

With specialist interests in sports injuries, self‑management, and the treatment of arthritis, Matthew’s work focuses on empowering patients with practical, sustainable strategies for long‑term health. As a former Director at the charity Arthritis Action, Matthew oversaw a network of more than 160 therapists across the UK. As Associate Director for the Institute of Osteopathy, the professional association for UK osteopaths, he worked closely with regulators, universities and the research community to strengthen national standards across the profession. He held a Fellowship with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and completed a secondment with NHS England as National Education and Transformation Lead, roles that highlight his influence on national policy, education and clinical quality.

In October 2024, Matthew received the Chief Allied Health Professional Officer’s Gold Award for Excellence, recognising his outstanding contribution to UK healthcare and his dedication to advancing osteopathic practice.
